Granadella Beach – early birds catch the waves 🐚

We knew Granadella was popular, but wow – we rolled in at 8:00 AM and still snagged one of the last parking spots. We had to leave the car up at the top of the winding road – about a 10-minute walk down to the beach – but honestly, the views were so stunning we didn’t mind one bit. Picture-perfect cliffs, pine trees, and that first glimpse of the turquoise water? Chef’s kiss.

Approaching the Beach

This beach is pure Mediterranean magic – pebbles underfoot, cliffs all around, and the kind of water that’s so clear you start to wonder if you’ve accidentally walked into a travel brochure. The kids grabbed their goggles and didn’t come out for hours. Even we grown-ups couldn’t resist a bit of snorkeling – it’s like swimming in an aquarium.

In the summer season there is a platform around 100 meters from the shore line so that you can relax if you are not a long distant swimmer.

When the stomachs started rumbling, we grabbed lunch at La Bandita – super chill spot right by the water with tasty tapas and cold drinks (and yes, the mojito was as good as it looked).

Pro tip though: if you're staying at Casa Tucan, there's a handy cooler box in the house, so you can pack your own drinks and snacks. Especially useful if you want to avoid the midday queue or keep your kids’ favorite juice at arm’s reach.

Sun, sea, snacks and snorkeling – not a bad way to spend the day 🌞
