Looking to cool off after a few too many beach days? Les Fonts de l’Algar is the inland escape we didn’t know we needed – a lush, shaded slice of paradise tucked in the hills about an hour from Jávea.

The main attraction? A series of natural waterfalls and pools, where the water is so clear (and cold!) it’ll wake you up better than a double espresso. The kids went absolutely wild – jumping, sliding, swimming, and shrieking with joy. We joined in too... after a bit of hesitation, because let's be honest: it's refreshing in the "my soul just left my body" kind of way 😅

There’s a well-maintained path that winds through the entire site, with plenty of spots to stop, dip your toes, or go full-on canyon mode. It’s part nature park, part wild waterpark – and it’s stunning. Greenery, cliffs, rushing water – like something out of a fantasy movie, but with snack bars and lifeguards.

Tip for future-you: bring water shoes, towels, and maybe a waterproof bag. And if you’re staying at Casa Tucan, pack a picnic – or at least some drinks in the cooler. There are places to eat nearby, but having your own stuff is golden, especially when you're drying off in the sun with a hungry crew.

Bottom line? Les Fonts de l’Algar is a must-do family adventure. Nature turned up to eleven – with a splash.
